Mobile Pferdedusche und Waschplatz

Fill a portable pressurised shower before you leave and you can wash a horse anywhere: at a show, in a field, at a yard with no tap nearby or beside the trailer. The NewFlow 8 LitrePortable Shower is hand pumped, so it needs no electricity and no hoseconnection. Fill it from any tap, trough or water carrier, pump the handle 10to 15 times and you have a steady, controllable spray for rinsing sweat, mudand shampoo. Eight litres covers a good rinse of legs, belly and saddle patch, and refilling takes a minute. Because you're not tied to a tap, you can washwherever the horse is calmest rather than leading them to a busy wash bay.

Yes, as long as the spray is gentle, quiet and predictable, which is exactly why a hand pumped shower suits horses so well. There's no motor noise and no sudden surge of pressure to spook a sensitive horse. The NewFlow head has 10 spray modes, so you can start on a soft mist or gentle rain setting, let the horse see and feel the water on a foreleg first, then work up the body. Keep the spray away from the ears, eyes and nostrils, keep the hose clear of the legs so it can't catch, and use lukewarm water where you can. Many owners find a controlled spray far calmer for the horse than a full pressure yard hose.

A full hose down of a big horse can use 40 litres or more, but a targeted rinse uses a fraction of that. With a pressurised 8 litre shower you can rinse legs, girth area and saddle patch after riding without refilling, and a full body rinse usually takes one or two refills depending on the size of the horse and the thickness of the coat. The saving comes from spray control: water only leaves the tank when you press the head, so nothing runs away onto the ground while you reach for the sweat scraper. Refill from a trough, water carrier or tap and carry on.

Yes. Fill the shower with warm water from a kettle, flask or the lorry's water heater, mixed with cold until it feels comfortable on the back of your hand. The NewFlow tank takes water up to 50°C, never boiling. Its 5mm neoprene sleeve keeps the water warmer for longer, which makes a real difference on a cold showground or a winter yard. Warm water lifts sweat and grease better than cold, is kinder on a clipped horse, and helps them dry off comfortably before you rug up. It's ideal after a wet cross country round or a muddy winter hack.

Look for a shower that's pressurised, quiet, quick to fill and small enough to live in a lorry or trailer locker. A hand pumped shower ticks every box: no batteries to go flat halfway through the day, no cables, and no motor noise around excitable horses. The NewFlow 8 Litre Portable Shower weighs around 2 kg empty, has a carry strap, and slides into a tack locker or under a lorry seat. The 10 mode head goes from a fine mist for faces and legs to a firm jet for hooves, studs and boots, and it doubles up for cooling a horse after a hot round.

Yes, and it's one of the most useful jobs for it. Cold hosing is widely used to help manage heat and swelling in a horse's lower legs, and a portable shower lets you do it in the stable or field rather than walking a sore horse to the wash bay. Fill with cold water, pick a gentle or medium spray mode and run the water steadily down the affected leg. Eight litres gives you 3 to 6 minutes of continuous flow depending on the spray mode, so refill and repeat as needed. Cold hosing sessions are typically 10 to 20 minutes at a time, but always follow your vet's advice on how long and how often, especially with an injury.

A quick rinse of the sweaty areas is often all that's needed: saddle patch, girth area, between the hind legs and under the mane. Use a gentle spray mode, work with the lie of the coat, then follow with a sweat scraper and a towel or cooler. A portable pressurised shower is ideal because you can rinse right by the trailer or the stable door, and 8 litres covers a sweat rinse with water to spare. In cooler weather use lukewarm water so the horse doesn't chill, and rug accordingly afterwards. Rinsing sweat regularly helps prevent rubs and skin irritation under tack.

Absolutely. Switch to a firmer jet and the same shower rinses mud off brushing boots, overreach boots and wellies, cleans bits and stirrups, shifts dried mud from the ramp and rinses down the trailer floor after travelling. It's also handy for washing your hands before lunch at a show and for rinsing buckets, feed bowls and haynets. Keeping a filled shower in the lorry means you're never hunting for a tap. After using it around mud or disinfectant, rinse the tank with clean water and let it air dry.

No. The NewFlow shower is pressurised by hand: fill it, pump the handle 10 to 15 times and the spray head does the rest. That makes it perfect for fields, showgrounds and yards with no power, and you'll never arrive to find a flat battery. If the pressure drops during a wash, a few more pumps brings it straight back. There's nothing to charge, no cable trailing near the horse and nothing electrical to worry about around water, which is also why travelling grooms like it.
